Textural Glamour is inspired by a ‘worker-bee’ environment and value system.

Reflecting a hive structure in spatial layout and finishes; the outer perimetre of the building houses all permanent Victorian Opera staff.

These fresh, dynamic spaces are flooding with natural light via a range of skylight sources. With a range of woven materials, both raw and unprocessed, these spaces aim to bring a touch of nature and comfort throughout their texture, whilst still having subtle features of restrained sophistication to promote healthy and happy workers and mirror the standard of the Victorian Opera’s work.

At the heart of the building there is a custom 3-dimensional geometric resin facade. Holding the second rehearsal space and dual green room / kitchenette, these spaces contrast the raw outer shell by their rich amber hues, glossy translucent and an array of bold, opulent furnishings and fittings.

These glowing social spaces, open to all staff and performers, signify the central stores of gooey honey and the overall value of the team who must unite to successfully create for the Victorian Opera.
